Abstract

The impact of non-hemorrhagic stroke can occur in limb weakness, so ROM is necessary.ROM is a full joint motion exercise painless to increase muscle strength. Muscular strength is theability of the muscles to contraction. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ROMapplication on the extremities on the muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients at PantiNirmala Hospital. The research design used Pre-Experimental by using the One-Group Pre-PostTest Design method. The population in this study were 42 non-hemorrhagic stroke patients whoexperienced limb weakness and a total sample of 42 respondents who were taken using totalsampling.Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test, because the data were not normally distributed.Theresults of this study indicate that the muscle strength scale increases on the muscle strength scale 5by 50% in the upper extremities and 33.3% in the lower extremities. The results of the Wilcoxon testshowed ρ-value (0,000) <α 0.05, so the effect of applying ROM to the ekstremitas on the musclestrength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients at Panti Nirmala hospital. The conclusion in the studywas that the muscle strength scale was 3 after the application of passive ROM was carried out for 6times of exercise, there was an increase the muscle strength scale to 4, because the application ofROM when done continuously was able to increase muscle strength.. ROM as an independentaction for nurses is recommended to be used as early therapy when the condition of nonhemorrhagic stroke patients is stable. Keywords: ROM, muscle strength, non-hemorrhagic stroke
